Keywords

Search a topic in a market, filter the results, then save phrases worth tracking in Ranks.

Search expands from your topic, not an exact match. Filters narrow what comes back.

## Step by step

### Step 1. Enter a topic

How to use it: Type the topic to expand from in the Keyword box — for example “running shoes”. You get the market around the phrase, not only that exact string.

*Step 1 — Enter a topic*

### Step 2. Pick the market

How to use it: Open the Market menu and choose a country and language, such as United States · English. Volume and difficulty always match that market. Choose Other market… to enter any country and language codes.

*Step 2 — Pick the market*

### Step 3. Choose where keywords come from

How to use it: Press Filters to open the options. Find keywords from offers Suggestions, Related searches, A competitor page, or All of these.

*Step 3 — Choose where keywords come from*

### Step 4. Filter volume, difficulty and words

How to use it: Under Result filters set Min and Max volume, difficulty and words, or leave them on Any. Word counts split head terms from long tail.

*Step 4 — Filter volume, difficulty and words*

### Step 5. Narrow by intent, includes and excludes

How to use it: Pick an Intent (informational, navigational, commercial or transactional), list words in Must include or Leave out, or tick Only show questions (how, what, why…).

*Step 5 — Narrow by intent, includes and excludes*

### Step 6. Search and save

How to use it: Press Search — the price (“Up to … credits per search”) shows beside it. Tick the rows worth keeping and press Save selected. They appear under Saved keywords, where you can tag them, export a CSV, and import them into Ranks.

*Step 6 — Search and save*

## When a number looks wrong

- A search returns many rows — filters keep you inside one useful batch.
- Missing provider data reads not available — never 0.
