What this does not measure

  • It fetches the page as each crawler from one location at one moment. A crawler blocked in another country, or tomorrow, is not visible here.
  • A block is not always a defect. Blocking a training crawler in robots.txt is a valid opt-out and the tool labels it as one.
  • It cannot see whether the crawler already has the page in an index from before the block was applied.
  • Perplexity-User and ChatGPT-User fetch only when a person asks, so they may be allowed while the indexed crawlers are not.
