Crawlwise vs SEO Site Checkup

Crawlwise vs SEO Site Checkup: an honest SEO audit tool comparison. A long-running instant checkup that has grown into a monitoring suite.

What it is

A hosted tool that scores a page against more than 70 SEO factors, with plans from $39 a month adding weekly score monitoring, keyword tracking, uptime and speed monitoring, and LLM brand-visibility tracking.

Where SEO Site Checkup is better

This section is the reason to read the page. A comparison that only lists our wins is marketing, and you would know it was.

  • It tracks brand mentions across AI engines on the Webmaster plan and up. We tell you whether a crawler can read the page; they tell you whether the answer engines are naming you.
  • Keyword position tracking, competitor comparisons, uptime monitoring from several locations and site speed monitoring come in one plan, with seats for a team.
  • Every paid plan includes unlimited single-page analyses, so checking a hundred URLs costs the same as checking one.
  • It has been doing this for more than a decade, and a single score is a quicker thing to hand a client than our list of findings.

Where we differ

  • We do not reduce the page to a score. We publish the checks and how many of them ran, so a missing measurement is never counted as a pass.
  • Their free checkup allows one website check a day before it asks you to sign up. Our free tools ask for nothing, and run as often as you like within a rate limit.
  • We fetch the page as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended to see whether each one gets through, which is a different question from whether a model mentions you.
  • Plans start at $4.99 a month against their $39, and API and MCP access come with Pro for scripting the same audit.

What cannot be compared

  • Their brand-visibility tracking measures what the answer engines say about you. Our crawler checks measure whether they can read you. Those answer different questions, and neither replaces the other.
