What this does not measure

  • Valid XML does not mean the URLs work. The status column is a sample of the first URLs, not all 50,000 of them.
  • It does not check whether a listed URL is canonical, noindex, or a duplicate. Those come from a crawl of the pages themselves.
  • It reads the sitemap you give it. A sitemap that is not advertised in robots.txt is one we had to be told about.

Paste a sitemap URL, or a site and we look for /sitemap.xml. Valid XML does not mean the URLs work, so the first 10 URLs are fetched and their real status shown.
